Step Up To Quality is a quality rating and improvement system administered by the Ohio Department of Children and Youth. SUTQ recognizes and promotes learning and development programs that meet quality program standards that exceed preschool licensing and school age child care licensing health and safety regulations. Step Up To Quality program standards are based on national research identifying standards which lead to improved outcomes for children.
All Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Preschool Special Education (PSE) programs are mandated to participate in Step Up To Quality (SUTQ) and are required to achieve a rating of bronze, silver or gold.

Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) sites in Cuyahoga County, Ohio offer award-winning preschool programs that provide high-quality education for 3-5-year-olds. These sites meet rigorous standards, with only preschools whoo rated Gold in Ohio’s Step Up To Quality system, achieving our Gold quality standard. .
UPK preschools feature highly qualified teachers, low teacher-to-child ratios, personalized learning experiences, and ongoing communication with families. As a UPK parent, you’ll have the opportunity to actively participate in your child’s education, receive regular updates on their progress, volunteer, access valuable resources, and engage with other UPK families through social media platforms.
Children of preschool age who reside in Cuyahoga County are eligible to enroll in a UPK Preschool.

Play Academy wants you to know that your child is in a secure, safe environment when they are at our center. Each parent or authorized personnel will be given a secure login to enter the classroom areas. Our center also uses video surveillance cameras that record each classroom throughout the day to monitor our children and teachers. We believe children learn better in a secure, safe, and comfortable environment.
We use creative, high quality, developmentally appropriate High-Scope curriculum and teacher resources.The curriculum provides a balance of daily teacher-directed activities and child-directed activities. Our teacher’s goal is to make learning fun and help prepare your child for the future. Our curriculum provides a variety of activities that are designed to engage and develop parts of the brain throughout the following learning scope.We use all the quality products from High-Scope.

Our menus are designed to accommodate dietary restrictions and promote healthy eating habits.Play Academy participates in the federally funded Child Care Food Program, and meets USDA nutrition requirements for meals served.
