Play Academy in Highland Heights is proud to be among the 70 selected childcare centers and preschools in Cuyahoga County, Ohio, participating in the Universal Pre-Kindergarten (UPK) program.
The UPK initiative provides award-winning preschool education designed to support the growth and development of children ages 3 to 5. Participating programs adhere to the highest quality standards and are distinguished by Ohio’s prestigious Step Up To Quality Gold Rating—which meets our Gold standard for quality.
UPK preschools feature highly qualified teachers, low teacher-to-child ratios, personalized learning experiences, and ongoing communication with families. As a UPK parent, you can participate actively in your child’s education, receive regular updates on their progress, volunteer, access valuable resources, and engage with other UPK families through social media platforms.
Children of preschool age who reside in Cuyahoga County are eligible to enroll in a UPK Preschool. While each program determines its tuition fees, families with incomes up to 400 percent of the federal poverty level (e.g., up to $106,000 annually for a family of four) may qualify for scholarship assistance provided by Cuyahoga County.
